5 best low-calorie ice-creams

3 Mins read

Until now, the relationship we have had with ice cream has always been one of love-hate. Love, for how necessary they are to face high temperatures and, of course, for how rich they are. And hate, for not being a highly recommended food for our health and, that many times, annoys all the advances made during the bikini operation.

However, this does not mean that we should stop taking them. The truth is that there are many types of ice cream, and not all contain the same amount of fat and sugar. First, we will tell you which icecreams make you fatter.

Which one makes you fatter?

All ice creams have sugar, although the amount is not always the same. If we take as a reference 100 grams and 100 milliliters of the different ice creams that are marketed, these are the calories that they would provide us:

1. Water ice cream: 90 kcal per 100 grams or 85 kcal per 100 ml.

2. Skim milk ice cream: 172 kcal per 100 grams or 89 kcal per 100 ml.

3. Cream ice cream: 230 kcal per 100 grams or 144 kcal per 100 ml.

4. Non-dairy fat or milk ice cream: between 180 and 200 kcal per 100 grams or between 90 and 100 kcal per 100 ml.

5. American type ice cream: 270 kcal per 100 grams or 221 kcal per 100 ml.

6. Diet ice cream without sugar: 232 kcal per 100 grams or 115 kcal per 100 ml.

As you can see, most of these ice creams provide a large amount of calories, except for the so-called water ice creams. But the least caloric ice cream by far is sorbet, with a total of 83 kcal, per 100 ml. Of course, unlike some of the previous ones, this variety of ice cream has no nutritional value, only sugar, and empty calories.

5 Best low Calorie ice creams in market

Nutritionists do not recommend taking ice creams every day, as they have high caloric values, poor quality fats, and sugars. In short, they are one of the most fattening foods. Therefore, we have to pay close attention when buying them, review the nutritional information, and, of course, not abuse their consumption. These are some of the healthy ice cream that have the best nutritional values:

Alpro ice cream

Alpro ice cream

Alpro low fat ice cream does not contain cow’s milk proteins, lactose, or gluten. One of the healthiest is Vanilla, with about 56kcal and 4.6g in each serving (50g). It contains Fiber and Calcium. The variety of flavors is wide: caramelized almond, chocolate with hazelnuts, or caramel and coffee.

Breyers ice cream

Breyers ice cream

The American brand Breyers’s low calorie ice cream uk is among the healthiest on the market. It is a multinational that produces ice cream with fewer calories and a high protein content. low calorie ice cream uk are in four different flavors: vanilla, chocolate, cookies, and mint. All are made with fresh cream. They contain about 60kcal and 5g of sugar in each serving (50g), although the figures vary slightly between them.

Mango / pineapple / red berries / peach solero

Frigo launched these vegan fat free icecream in the summer of 2019, and they are not the first in its commitment to a product without ingredients of animal origin. But what is also remarkable is that low fat icecream hardly contains kcal: from 37 to 79 each 42g unit. They are also sugar free ice cream.

Creamy lemon, Hacendado

Creamy lemon, Hacendado

At Mercadona, we find a wide variety of cheap and white-label Hacendado low fat ice cream. But none as healthy as this one, which only contains 39 kcal and 0.8g of sugar in each unit. This is because it is a product without added sugars. It is made with water and lemon juice, as well as multiple additives, so the general rule is met, and they cannot be taken daily either.

Nestle brand polo shirt icecream:

This NestlĂ© brand polo shirt fat free icecream, which is commonly consumed by children, is gluten-free. It has a chocolate, cola, and lemon flavor ( lemon juice). Each unit contains 80kcal, although the amount of sugar is high, about 13g. Even so, it is a lower figure than many other poles on the market.

As a final note, we must be careful with all those ice creams labeled as sugar-free or light, which despite not having sugar, do contain fat. This equates them to the rest of the ice creams above, calorically speaking.
