Usually, WhatsApp doesn’t get income through ads because the application’s founders also hated the advertisements needed to create this ad-free platform. Of course, it is entirely focusing on offering a great user experience and interface.

However, the founders also wanted to create an instant messaging platform free of cost that attracts giant users even if it is not for big companies to make any ads.

Technically, WhatsApp messenger doesn’t make money.

In 2014 Facebook bought WhatsApp for $19bn, and the app was free to download; after that first year, it would cost 99p every year. Later WhatsApp scrapped the charge in 2016 and announced that it would be looking into some new options that would permit them to make money when companies invest, they will expect returns.

Now, most small businesses can utilize WhatsApp to share their product catalog and easily interact with their customers; even a more significant business can also use WhatsApp as a customer service center. This will be a unique choice for sales and purchases.

According to experts consulted by BBC Mundo, this plan has excellent popularity and huge growth potential, but still debate over how WhatsApp uses user data to generate profits. Most importantly, WhatsApp’s database contains huge details, and it has information from 2 billion people.

How does Whatsapp make money in 2022-2023?

Of course, it is about gathering as well as selling data. Still, most Facebook users do not know the process and wonder how they are the product.

Most of the services are ‘free and make users their product also make money by using it.  Making money by collecting personal information about you and showing accurate advertisements or related things on your laptop’s browser, but still, there is a question about how does WhatsApp make money UK. In general, if one read the privacy agreement and terms & conditions of those applications, they would be surprised why we are accepting before they use those ‘free’ services.
