Sanrio Boys, aka Sanrio Danshi, is a Japanese slice-of-life drama anime series. It is the remake of the slice-of-life manga series of the same name by Mai Ando. Studio Pierrot adapted the manga into an anime series that made its debut on January 6, 2018. It ran for twelve episodes and concluded on March 24 of the same year.

Hasegawa Kouta is a seventeen-year-old high school student adoring the mascot PomPomPurin, a cute plush dog produced by the company “Sanrio.” However, he is embarrassed by his hobby and tries to hide this passion from his classmates with all his might.
But fate turns out to support the boy and sends him an acquaintance with Yu Mizuno, a guy who, without a memory, adores another character of “Sanrio” – Rabbit May Mélodi. Soon, Kota gets to know a few more fellow admirers of “Sanrio” products. But, unfortunately, they are all big companies trying to overcome their embarrassment because of their touching idolatry to plush animals.
The fans have been looking for the sequel’s whereabouts ever since the completion of its inaugural season. However, they are yet to find it as the makers are pretty tight-lipped regarding the future of the series. Neither the production company nor the author of the manga series has revealed anything regarding sanrio boys season 2. Therefore, now the audience has begun to get impatient as they’ve already waited for two years.
